What style would best describe your approach towards wedding photography?
If forced to pick between photo journalistic and traditional I would have to say that I have leanings towards photo journalism with strong hints of the traditional. Basically, I can tailor my style to match the look you are after. After all, this is your wedding and you should be able to ask for and receive the type of photography you would like.
Do you shoot film or digital?
At this point I shoot 100% digital. I believe that digital has finally caught up to film in terms of image quality and has a great many advantages over film. Digital images can be moved directly from the camera to the computer without any loss of quality (the same thing can not be said for scanned negatives), there they can be further enhanced without any compromise of quality. Shooting digitally also allows me to take a great many pictures without needing to charge extra to cover film and developing costs.
Is it possible to see a sample wedding album online?
Yes, view a sample wedding album here.
What type of equipment do you use?
I shoot concurrently with two Canon 20Ds (mounted with different lenses) and an assortment of high quality professional Canon lenses. The 20D produces an extremely high quality image file which can be printed to very large sizes. Most photos are taken in RAW mode which creates images of exceptional quality and versatility.
Can you provide us with a copy of the high resolution images that you take? If so, does this cost extra?
Yes, and the answer to part two is no. While I maintain the copyright to all images I take I will provide you with a copy of your high resolution images at no additional charge. Many wedding photographers make their money by selling you the prints from your wedding which is why they frequently charge $300-$500 for a copy of your high resolution images (this is on top of their other fees). I on the other hand am charging you for my time, professionalism, and experience. With a copy of all your images in your possession you are free to make as many prints and albums as you like in which ever manor you wish.
With that said if you do not wish to print your pictures yourself but would rather have me do so I would be happy to perform this service.
How many photographs can I expect to see from my wedding or other event?
The number may differ depending on the size and duration of your wedding or other event. For the average wedding I would expect to shoot 700-1000 frames (because I shoot digitally I do not put a cap on this number), of those images I would pare the number down and provide you with roughly 200-450 images.
Do you post process the images you take?
Yes. At the very least I will individually examine every single picture and on an as needed basis will use Photoshop CS2 to perform further enhancements. Enhancements may include: cropping and adjustment of exposure, color, sharpness, and/or contrast. I do not perform batch fixes on images; all images are worked on individually.
Can you convert images into B/W or Sepia, or otherwise creatively treat the images in post production?
Yes. Depending on the level of treatment you desire there may be an additional charge for this type of work.
How soon after the event can I expect to receive my images?
You can expect to receive a copy of your images within 3 weeks of your event, possibly sooner.
Will I be able to view and share my photographs on-line?
Yes. I will create an on-line photo gallery of your wedding images. You can then provide the URL for this gallery to your friends and family who can then order high quality prints directly from the web site. This will allow others to be able to print pictures at their leisure without the need to bother you.

Please
contact me for non-wedding photography quotes.
Will I be required to leave a deposit in order to reserve your services?
Yes, a deposit of 30% is required. Once this deposit is made and the contract is signed I am yours for the day of your event. Even if Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie beg me to shoot their wedding on your day I would politely decline.
Do you charge a travel fee?
I am based in Santa Cruz, California. For events between Carmel in the south and San Francisco in the North a travel fee will not be necessary. Follow up question, does this mean that if we have our wedding on the Greek island of Santorini you will not charge a travel fee? While Santorini is technically between Carmel and San Francisco if you travel due west or east I may have to charge for the cost of travel. With that said, I would be happy to offer substantial discounts for any weddings located on Santorini or any of the other Greek isles.
Enough already, how can I book your services?
